This is an exciting opportunity for Transport Planner to develop their existing skills, knowledge and experience. The successful candidate will be required to produce effective transport plans and control resources ensuring customer and business requirements are achieved while complying with legal responsibilities.Job responsibilities of Transport Planner include:Ensuring in house tracking systems housekeeping is constantly completedChecking resource availability for the shift andconfirming driver start times for next day,Briefing & De-briefing own driversMonitoring and reporting WTD issues / concerns to Operations teamEnsuring there is ongoing verbal communication with the driving team to supplement the use of our vehicle tracking system.Ensuring there is clear daily communication between day and night shifts, utilising handover documentsManaging drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demandUnderstanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation, loaded, empty legsReviewing allocated customers, ensuring work is planned to timeCommunicating with ESL Customer Services and Drivers, ensuring customer KPI targets are metRecording and maintaining fuel stock in ES DepotsLiaising with various fuel suppliers to obtain best fuel pricesManage or assist in any project as directed by the Fuel ManagerQualificationsAs Transport Planner you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:At least 1 years' experience in Planning.Good working knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers hours regulationsAble to use effectively Microsoft Windows package (Word, Excel and Outlook)Good working knowledge of GTS and Microlise systemAs the successful candidate you will be able to work on your own initiative, with the willingness to resolve complex issues.You should be able to comfortably organise your own workload and will be able to work in a pressurised environment to meet key deadlines.You should be PC literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word in particular.
