Transport Planner - Middlewich - Permanent Role - Previous Transport Planning Experience Required

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Salary: £30,000 (depending on experience)

Silver Arrow require a Transport Planner to work for a prestigious & niche transport company based in Middlewich, this role can provide a really interesting mix of work as planning can be for multiple different operations.

A CPC qualification is preferred; however, training will be provided to achieve this qualification within the first 18 months of employment.

Your Role:

• To plan and allocate the loads on a daily basis this is a nationwide multi drop operation.
• Balance the use of own fleet and sub contraction effectively.
• Ensuring the operation achieves all the necessary Health and Safety and legal requirements in relation to the Company's Operating Licence.
• Assist in ensuring that all telematics, driver training & driver recruitment procedures are adhered to
• Work alongside the training and compliance department in achieving set company objectives with regards to driver development and damage reporting, control and limitation.
• Manage day to day issues of the remote driver workforce, including performance, holidays, sickness and training.
• Attend regular conference calls and meetings at various locations as and when required
• Actively examining operational decisions including cost, pricing and service level provision to assess their impact on company and customers.
• Work alongside the operation management team on a daily basis to evaluate operational exceptions and their solutions.
• Look to source and manage backloads to minimise empty running across the fleet.

What we need from you:

• Previous transport planning experience
• To develop a detailed understanding across the entire operation to allow a seamless transition during absence and holiday support.
• Modular building/abnormal load experience beneficial however not essential
• Prepared to work in a fast-paced environment
