Transport Planner
Salary: �41,400
Location: Immingham
Hours: Nights shift, 4 on/4 off
Hybrid-working
Grafton Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Transport Planner on behalf of a successful company based in Immingham. The role of Transport Planner will be reporting to the Logistics Manager and will be needed to fill a 4 on/4 off nights shift pattern.
Duties of the Transport Planner includes:

  • Work in line with Health & Safety policy, legislation and company safety principles
  • Create weekly order sheets, maintain standing orders
  • Create sales orders in the planning system and print delivery notes where required
  • Monitor customer stock and plan deliveries accordingly
  • Create delivery plans, allocating trailers for each delivery, using the most efficient source and continually review this to identify potential issues and pro-actively amend as needed
  • Liaise with third party drivers to ensure that they are aware of the delivery plan, providing them with all information needed
  • Liaise with hauliers daily to obtain manning and resource availability
  • Monitor stock levels at various sites and inform Logistics Manager of any problems
  • Manage purchase orders for logistic-related suppliers
  • Work with colleagues to ensure that 24-hour planning cover is provided for the team
  • Liaise with departments to ensure awareness of stock requirements and shipments arrive in a timely manner
  • Inform the Engineering department of issues with items
  • Daily contact with customers for enquiries, keeping the Commercial department informed of complaints and issues when needed

You will need:

  • IT literacy, with experience of transport systems and telemetry systems
  • Experience in planning of bulk multi-drop deliveries is essential
  • Good understanding of UK/EU driving regulations
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • A CPC qualification would be desirable
