is currently looking to recruit
a Transport Planner
to work on our
Peterborough
contract in Sand Martin House Peterborough initially for a 9-month fixed term contract.
As a Transport Planner you will be part of our Transport Planning Team working with our Peterborough City Council client to improve the transport infrastructure of the city.
Working in partnership with the council’s Transport, Highway and Regeneration teams over £90million of funding has already been secured for projects including the creation of Peterborough Station Quarter, a new University and river crossing. Building on these successes, the partnership has huge ambitions including a £1billion regeneration plan to transform the city.
As a Transport Planner your duties & responsibilities will be:
Support the Transport Planning Lead and Senior Transport Planners with the delivery of transport planning and strategy projects.
Undertake data analysis, site visits, transport modelling and reporting.
Take responsibility for the delivery of small transport planning projects and data collection exercises.
Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within working practices.
Be responsible for developer and business Travel Plans, advising and ensuring organisations
deliver their plans in accordance with planning conditions
Be actively engaged with the broader Transport Planning community, and share leaning and innovation with the team
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Demonstrable technical skills, including knowledge of transport planning tools such as transport models (Linsig, Junctions 10, Aimsun, Visum, and Saturn) and GIS.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to self-check and correct own work.
An understanding of the Transport Business Case process and the inputs these require.
Experience working in client or customer facing roles, and of working as part of a team.
A degree level qualification in Transport Planning, Maths, Civil Engineering, Geography Computer Science or another subject with skillsets that are demonstrably applicable to Transport Planning.
