We are actively looking to engage a Transport Paragon Planner for an exciting new role in the Burton-on-Trent area of Derbyshire in the third party world of logistics!

Our client are a world leading general haulage and distribution business with 17 sites in the UK who supply both trade, third-party logistics, retail & industrial services. The company has recently grown to employ 390 HGV & LGV vehicles who serve a 24/7 transport network. With over 8,000 loads on a typical day to day basis - this is an extremely fast-paced transport operation and would suit those looking to grow and advance a career in the sector. Future growth is also planned for the site, thus resulting in high levels of opportunities moving into 2024 and onwards!

Description

As a Transport Paragon Planner you will report into the Transport Planning Manager and Head of Transport Planning & Logistics on a daily basis. You will be based at the Burton-on-Trent area of Derbyshire and have the following areas of responsibility. This role will primarily be responsible for planning, in a timely manner transport requirements on a day 1 / day 2 basis, so that the team meet the required plan, logistics service and cost performance targets.

• Management of the transport planning of 100+ HGV & LGV Vehicles - a mixture of HGV & LGV vehicles.
• Populate and maintain scheduling and booking and tracker systems.
• Using a mix of automated and manual tools undertake transport planning and daily execution / performance tracking of loads and vehicles.
• Share accurate information with own drivers and service providers to enable effective operations.
• Identify lane / loads requirements, risk and risk mitigations for own and third party providers.
• Work with internal stakeholders to utilise own fleet and third party to obtain the optimal cost

Profile

The successful Transport Paragon Planner will be commutable to the Burton-on-Trent area of Derbyshire. and have the following background:

• Either a Transport Professional with transport planning experience.
• Ideally 2+ years transport experience
• Experience in Paragon Planning Software would be advantageous.
• Experience in managing drivers & planning routes.
• Strong internal and external customer service skill.
