Transport Operations Supervisor 

Menzies Distribtution are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team in Ellesmere Port. Whereby you will lead, support & develop our dispatch operation & operational team to ensure site performance is exceeded and maintained in all we do. You will play a vital part in ensuring operational compliance such as H&S is adhered to at all times & build relationships with our customer.

The Details:


  • Salary: £31,524.12 Per Annum/ £12.12 Per Hour
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: Week 1: 05:00-15:00/ Week 2: 07:00-17:00 / Week 3: 10:30-20:30
  • Parking Onsite
  • Monhtly Pay

Transport Supervisor Duties:



  • Accountable for the management and supervision of the dispatch operation.
  • Manage, support and develop the operational team
  • Ensure the performance of the operation exceeds customer expectations in line with recognised contract KPI's.
  • Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ensure operational compliance including H&S
  • Assist the Operations Manager & Regional Manager in ensuring all operational performance standards are met
  • Ensure and monitor effective use of driver and vehicle resources
  • Establish and develop working relationships with the customer
  • Compile and analyse operational and financial performance data to identify service efficiencies and improvement around, MPG, Tachos, fuel and damage.
  • Coordinate site housekeeping/maintenance to ensure H&S requirements are upheld
  • Some travelling between Menzies sites group.

Transport Supervisor Requirements: 


  • Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Able to manage, motivate and develop people
  • Budget management
  • Project management
  • KPI development and measurement
  • Ability to plan and organise effectively to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use and understand computerised systems including TMS and WMS systems
  • High level of accuracy and numeracy, keen eye for detail
  • Transport management experience
