Summary:

Are you an accomplished, hands-on logistics professional with a passion for logistics and transport management? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing temperature-controlled distribution company as a Transport Manager. This role would be leading a growing team, and the desirable candidate will be looking to grow and develop with the business in this role. An excellent opportunity for career progression, whilst leading a dedicated team of transport professionals to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all aspects of the transport day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity and compliance to company policies / legislative requirements.
Ensure Health & Safety and environmental policies are followed and adhered to including appropriate induction and training for all operational staff.
Lead, develop and motivate direct reports so that they deliver or exceed their objectives and KPI's, whilst identifying future potential and develop in line with business needs.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance.
Managing the drivers, dealing with infringement compliance checks, tacho management and speed checks.
Collate and analyse data to make operational decisions and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Skills/Experience:

Previous experience in a similar Transport Management role.
Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential).
IT literate and experience navigating Transport Management Systems.
Proven and demonstrable ability to understand customer and business requirements.
Commercial awareness and able to make operational decisions to improve financial performance.
People management experience with demonstrable ability to lead, coach and motivate a team.
Able to support the need for and lead change within area of responsibility.
Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements within a transport operation, and able to effectively lead compliance.
