My client is the largest supplier of cable in Europe.
They are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to work in our busy office in London. They are looking for someone who is driven, focused, customer orientated as well as commercially & industry aware. A good geographical knowledge is essential along with previous experience of multi drop distribution. Experience in compliance and FORS is mandatory.
You must have excellent communication and negotiating skills. Previous experience as a Transport Manager is essential and Lorry Loader experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic transport team helping to take the business forward and promote organic growth furthering their own career along the way. They would be expected to communicate with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders essential to the smooth running of the business. A hands-on approach is a must to work alongside our drivers therefore experience in a similar field is essential for this role.
Our ideal candidate must be of strong character and be able to work independently and as a key part of our existing transport team. Attention to detail, with strong planning and organisational skills is a must along with excellent time and work management.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who can adapt quickly to change, someone who is proactive & self-motivated who can work under pressure whilst producing work of a high standard.
The Transport Manager will be allocating work for 25 commercial vehicles of varying size as well as a small fleet of company cars. This would include briefing and de-briefing of drivers, assisting with the raising purchase orders, record keeping and occasional assistance in disciplinary procedures.

Key responsibilities will include:
· Promoting positive HSE culture
· Managing investigations into any operational incidents
· Seeking continuous improvements in all areas of performance including vehicle utilisation and running efficiencies, repair and maintenance spend, training and compliance.
· Monitoring vehicle defect and driver infringements.
· Keep a clean and well-maintained fleet and monitor driver standards.
· Liaise with warehouse/production operations managers.
· Oversee administrative responsibilities of the department, rotas, disciplinaries, holidays, absenteeism, recruitment etc
Pay: £45,000.00 per year
