Transport Manager

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Transport Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient management of transport operations, ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional service to clients.

The Role:

• Plan next day deliveries across 12 Drivers, optimising time and resources for maximum efficiency.
• Handle driver queries and debriefs, providing necessary support and guidance.
• Manage fleet operations, including booking MOTs and insurance to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Track driver hours and maintain accurate records to ensure adherence to legal requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding delivery changes and updates, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

The Person:

• Previous experience in driver management at Manager or Supervisor level is highly desirable.
• Strong geographical knowledge of Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
• Ability to maintain a firm and direct approach to handle time-critical situations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

The Package:

• Monday to Friday, 5am - 2pm (flexible on start/finish time)
