Position Overview as a Transport Manager:

Our client is seeking a proactive Transport Manager to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent. As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of their transportation operations, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation operations and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage the daily activities of drivers, vehicles, and routes to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor and analyse transportation costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety, vehicle maintenance, and driver licensing.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among transportation staff.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise, providing prompt resolution and communication as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in transportation management.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
