ROLE SUMMARY
Our client, a leading company in the Renewables sector, is seeking a Transport and Installation Engineer for a contract position. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the T&I engineering work related to the WTG foundations on an Offshore windfarm project.
Your main tasks will include developing marine logistics strategy, providing T&I input into WTG foundation design, identifying suitable installation vessels, and assessing contractors' proposed methodologies for efficiency and suitability. Additionally, you will be involved in long-haul HTV vessel selection.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Closely interface with the Structures team to ensure that T&I requirements are introduced and reflected in the foundation design
- Design lift points and define installation criteria
- Develop grillage & SF design and identify tooling requirements
- Collaborate with the WTG team to understand installation parameters
- Liaise with the Geotech team for foundation installation and geotechnical requirements
- Maintain ongoing interaction with the T&I supply chain to ensure alignment with design
- Review contractors' methods for transportation and installation
- Manage risks and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Exhibit professional conduct and lead by example at all times
TASKS
- Chair technical meetings with contractors and contribute to regular reporting on T&I scope development
- Monitor progress of T&I Contractor's engineering related to vessel readiness
KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Strong ability to work independently while keeping the T&I manager informed
- Collaborative and effective team player
- Experience in contractual interface management, contractor management, and conflict/dispute resolution
- Effective communication skills
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Degree in relevant technical discipline
- Experience working for a developer or offshore installation contractor
- Experience with WTG foundation loadouts, transportation, and installation
- GWO suite of training certifications including First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, and Sea Survival (with HUET)
- COVID-19 Passport
- Offshore Medical including Chester Step Test
- CDM and Maritime regulations experience
- Offshore Lifting and LOLER experience
- IT proficient
