Cedar is recruiting a Transformation and Improvement Project Officer to join a local authority based in London on an interim basis. The post holder will assist with the coordination, planning, control and delivery of projects and programmes within the Children's Services division.

Rate: £250 - £300 per day Inside IR35

Location: London

Hybrid: 2-3 days in the office per week

Responsibilities

Support the Transformation and Improvement team by using effective monitoring methodologies and developing processes and systems to continuously drive projects and programmes forward.
Consistently collect and maintain programme data.
Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, issue logs, change control records, report systems and other project support functions.
Carry out research, benchmarking exercises, audits and data collection and analysis.
Oversee the use of project plans, documentation and recording and reporting standards, ensuring compliance, and taking action where needed.
Liaise with key contacts and stakeholders to gather relevant information and statistics to compile reports for various governance boards and monitor project schedules and budgets.
Monitor project progress through the implementation of agreed regular process-reporting mechanisms and improve current processes across a range of major programmes within the division.
Support the programme/project manager in identifying and tracking cross-project dependencies.
Regularly review and update filing and document management systems and implement changes to drive effectiveness.
Share data and compare findings following research with the project team and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Act as the first point of contact for queries from project team members, managers and staff and assist with the preparation of staff communications.

Requirements

Previous experience working within local government within project management and delivery for Children, Families and Education is essential.
Familiarity with the lifecycle of project development and typical problems associated with organisation wide projects.
Experience demonstrating strong analytical skills, carrying out research, producing reports and informing improvements based on findings.
Experience driving effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels
