Salary: �22,300.00 - �22,750.00 (Full-Time Equivalent)

�16,859.44 - �17,199 actual including holiday pay

Job Type: 33 Hours per week, 36 Weeks per year (paid for 44.2), Permanent

About the Role:

As Training and Development Advisor, you will provide high quality, professional & people focused college wide training and development support, advice and guidance to all staff and managers. Specifically focussing on the implementation of the staff development strategy, ensuring fair and transparent process and application for all staff. You will be responsible for the college induction process and ensuring the College CPD days align with the annual strategic aims and themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the successful implementation of the staff development strategy
  • Implement and embed a cross college new staff induction programme supporting staff from day 1 to end of probation
  • Lead on the annual appraisal and College CV cycle ensuring all training needs are identified
  • Develop, plan and coordinate the CPD days across college
  • Work closely with the Quality team to ensure all identified development needs are captured and themes and trends are identified to support the development of a cross college development programme
  • Track, coordinate and manage the mandatory training cycle across college
  • Produce people data reports as required, monitoring all staff development activities and keeping up to date records
  • Working in partnership with the First Line HR Support Team to ensure that employee and manager queries are responded to and addressed
  • Liaise with external training providers coordinating delivery
  • Manage the administration of the staff development budget, raising Purchase Orders for all staff development activity
  • Process staff development applications for both short- and long-term courses
  • Lead on the Taking Teaching Further and other bursary application processes

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining an approachable demeanour to aid a positive first impression and rapport building
  • Customer focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service
  • Problem solving abilities in order to resolve issues independently or collaboratively with colleagues
  • Demonstrable evidence and practical experience of working as a training and development specialist at advisory level ideally within the FE or education sector is a must
  • A minimum of CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in a People/HR role is essential
