Job Title: Training & Development Advisor

Location: Highbury, Portsmouth

Salary: �22,750 - �24,023 (Full-Time Equivalent)

Actual: �15,636 - �16,510

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, 30 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.

About the role:

The Training and Development Advisor will provide high quality, professional people focused college wide training and development support, advice and guidance to all staff and managers. Specifically focussing on the implementation of the staff development strategy, ensuring fair and transparent process and application for all staff.

Responsible for the college induction process and ensuring the College CPD days align with the annual strategic aims and themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the successful implementation of the staff development strategy
  • Implement and embed a cross college new staff induction programme supporting staff from day 1 to end of probation
  • Lead on the annual appraisal and College CV cycle ensuring all training needs are identified
  • Develop, plan and coordinate the CPD days across college
  • Work closely with the Quality team to ensure all identified development needs are captured
  • Track, coordinate and manage the mandatory training cycle
  • Produce people data reports
  • Working in partnership with HR Support team to ensure that employee records, HRIS records and the College Single Central Record are kept up to date
  • Coordinate and lead on the capability process supporting development and retaining a high level of performance across all areas
  • Writing and delivering internal training programmes
  • Liaise with external training providers coordinating delivery
  • Manage the administration of the staff development budget,
  • Process staff development applications
  • Lead on the Taking Teaching Further and other bursary application processes
  • Accurately calculate the remission requirements for staff on development courses
  • Monitor the People teams budget and be responsible for raising all Purchase Orders

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • A minimum of CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a People/HR role
  • Demonstrable evidence and practical experience of working as a training and development specialist at advisory level ideally within the FE or education sector
  • HR knowledge and understanding, with practical knowledge of up to date employment law
  • Understanding of safeguarding in the context of education
