This is an entry level role, suited to recent college and school leavers. The successful candidate will receive training and development (on the job and in the classroom) on selling the Cala product in accordance with Company guidelines. Most of your time will be spent on the job in a sales environment on site developments.
Under direct supervision (from Senior Sales Consultants or Sales Managers, as defined by the Sales & Marketing Director) and through training the role holder will learn how to:
Process sales in accordance with agreed Cala systems, procedures, and controls
Present developments to an excellent standard
Provide excellent customer service throughout the entire buying process
Negotiate with customers to achieve sales
Under the guidance of the Management team, you will therefore be involved in the following activities:
Contributing to the quarterly sales targets in line with allocated set targets
Attend all on and off the job training sessions scheduled by the Sales & Marketing Director or Sales Manager
Study any sales training materials suggested by the Sales & Marketing Director or appointed trainer
Shadow sales meetings as required (including quarterly regional meetings) and engage with group discussions on meeting sales targets
Identify and use all on the job learning opportunities with confidence and enthusiasm
Take a pro-active approach to learning such as requesting additional training or support if required
You will additionally play an active role in the regional sales and marketing policing of, and compliance with, legislation in the field such as:
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) helping to ensure that our customer’s data is treated with the respect and diligence it always requires.
The Consumer Protection Act, promoting our products and services in a fair and compliant manner
The learning and training period will typically last for 6 – 12 months depending on experience. After which the role holder will be required to demonstrate all competencies required of a Sales Advisor in Cala. About You We are seeking a new team member who is confident and has the passion and drive to succeed at the highest level.
Ideally you will have achieved:
National 4 in English and Maths
You should also be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Integrity and honesty
Demonstrates strong people and relationship building skills, including excellent verbal and listening communication skills
Strong desire to learn and develop skills in sales within the housebuilding industry
Belief in the Cala brand
Understands the need to work within set procedures and guidelines and be mindful of these
Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook)
Ability to learn new systems
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Experience in retail or a customer facing role is beneficial but not required
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
A team-player
Ability to understand and follow relevant legislation (e.g. DPA, NHBC Regs etc.)
No sales experience is required but passion, enthusiasm and a demonstrated flair for selling is necessary
Must have a full Right to Work in the UK
Must have a valid UK Driving License, access to a car/vehicle and a willingness to travel
Must be able to work weekends
LOCATION
Cala Homes (Thames) Limited is one of eight regional Cala businesses. The team that focuses on the South of Thames oversees Cala’s new home developments in Hampshire and Dorset. This role will be based at one of our sites in or around Winchester. This is an on-site role where you are expected to work 5 days a week,
of which weekend working will form part of your normal working pattern.
