We are recruiting for a Trainee Recruitment Adviser to join the Trainee Recruitment Team.
The Trainee Recruitment Team is part of the HR Department and the wider Business Services function based at the firm’s head office in London. Its purpose is to work alongside the Trainee Recruitment partners to attract and recruit those wishing to qualify as a solicitor, who will ensure the continuing success of the firm.
The team consists of the Head of Recruitment, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager, Adviser, Executive, Assistant, and three Administrators. The successful candidate will report into the Marketing Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //
The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.
New Solicitor Apprenticeship (SA) programme
Working with the Marketing Manager:
On the design and implementation of a new brand for the SA programme.
On the design and implementation of the marketing and comms campaign for the SA programme, including the social media campaign, website content, and all internal and external comms.
To organise and run an events series to promote the SA programme, and represent the firm at external SA recruitment events.
Working with the Operations Manager:
On the design and implementation of a new application and recruitment process for the SA programme.
Full responsibility for the SA programme vacancy on the online recruitment system, including reviewing applications as necessary.
Responsible for the offer and post-offer process, including acting as one of the main points of contact for candidates following an offer.
University relationship management
Working with the university relationship partners and Marketing Manager to agree and organise university society sponsorships and campus events/activities at key target universities.
Arranging annual university-wide firm presentations and university society events, and attending events where required.
Liaising with university societies to confirm sponsorship agreements and manage these relationships throughout the academic year.
Maintaining and developing relationships with law schools and careers services of target universities.
Work experience opportunities and recruitment events
Shared responsibility for organising and running the summer work experience schemes.
Representing the firm at trainee recruitment and SA events throughout the year, and giving presentations where required.
Interviews
Conducting short HR interviews as part of the training contract interview process.
Obtaining interview feedback from the partners where necessary.
Providing unsuccessful candidates with feedback by telephone.
Speaking to candidates about any adjustments they require as part of the interview process.
Applications
Shared responsibility for reviewing applications for training contract and work experience vacancies during the busy season.
Miscellaneous
Running reports from the online system and manipulating the raw data using pivot tables and Excel.
Responding to general trainee recruitment and SA queries (both internal and external) by telephone and email.
Assisting with other tasks and projects to support the team as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE //
Candidates for this position must have:
Degree-educated or equivalent industry experience.
Previous experience of working in graduate recruitment attraction and selection in a law firm or other professional services environment.
Ideally, previous experience of running apprenticeship recruitment campaigns and apprenticeship assessment centres.
Enthusiastic individual prepared to take a hands-on approach to managing their workload using their own initiative.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and deliver high quality work.
Ability to work as part of a team and build strong business relationships, both internally and externally and at all levels; approachable and able to build rapport quickly.
High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (in particular Word and Excel); previous experience of using an applicant tracking system (ATS) would also be beneficial.
