Trade Finance Specialist (Trade Credit)

The Role We are looking for an experienced trade finance specialist as part of our trade credit and trade finance growth strategies.As a trade finance specialist, you will be based in our London office and will play a pivotal role in our trade credit and trade finance teams. You will be required to source new business opportunities and manage the placement of transactions related to working capital facilities and short-medium term trade finance from our existing and new FI clients (bank and non-bank financial institutions) through insurance products such as Trade Credit Insurance and Non-payment Insurance. You'll be at the forefront of handling trade-related financing placements, contributing directly to our clients' success in financing international trade. Working closely with our GB Trade Credit and Comprehensive Non-Payment Insurance teams and our global Trade Finance team you will be responsible for direct sales with new FI clients and our existing FI clients and for the management and placement of enquiries with the trade credit and non-payment insurers. Activities will include, but not be limited to:
Initiate sales and marketing activities, including direct selling and conference participation, with the clear objectives of receiving and closing enquiries from new and existing FI clients. Negotiating and binding trade finance related transactions on a single risk or portfolio basis with the trade credit and non-payment insurers, including structuring transactions and negotiating policy wordings. Collaborate with our Trade Credit Teams, FI Comprehensive Non-Payment Teams and our Trade Finance Teams. Be a point of contact and service provider for our global teams wishing to access the London market. Actively utilise the WTW CRM and Broking Platform systems Participate as a key member of bespoke projects and initiatives in support of our aspirations around digitisation, technology, and innovation.
The RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:A relevant degree preferred.Proven trade finance experience connected with the use of trade credit and non-payment insurance.Strong understanding of working capital facilities and trade financing instruments.Be aware of the latest solutions offered by the insurance market for this type of financing.Detailed knowledge and experience of the trade credit and non-payment insurance market, including policy wordings.Proven track record in delivering growth within the trade finance and trade credit sectors, ideally with an established FI trade finance network.Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.Excellent communication (written, verbal, oral and presentation) and interpersonal skills.Strong team player with good people skills.Experience in digitisation and technology solutions preferred.Equal Opportunity EmployerAt WTW, we believe difference makes us stronger.
