Town Planner

Summary

An international developer, owner and operator of large scale Solar PV and storage (BESS) projects are seeking a Planner to join their growing UK team.

This company have a 2GW UK pipeline and are branching out into new geographies and technologies as they grow.

This is open to both experienced Planners with renewable energy experience, or less experienced planning professionals looking to get into the renewable energy space.

This is a brand new role for the company and the opportunities for learning and career growth are vast.

Responsibilities

As Planner you'll be responsible for:

• Continuing planning applications, including appeals


• Participating in weekly planning meetings


• Ensuring applications and appeals are determined as quickly as possible


• Holding external planners to account to minimise project delay


• Assisting with initial reviews of potential Solar and BESS sites


• Managing external consultants regarding scope, costs and timescales


• Reviewing and signing-off Planning Statements, and screening requests


• Representing the company at stakeholder meetings eg in the community


• Maintaining project planning budgets


• Assisting with the discharge of planning conditions and amendments


• Advancing new technologies and business opportunities as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ year's planning experience.


• Relevant Planning qualification (Planning / Urban Planning / Town Planning / Architecture etc)


• MRTPI qualified would be advantageous but not a necessity


• Experience with NSIPs would be advantageous but not a necessity
