Tools Design Engineer

Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Technical Support Engineer (CAD/Tooling) within the Tooling department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.
This Technical Support Engineer (CAD/tooling) position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of mechanical CAD expertise supporting the engineering department, with particular focus on tooling design.
Role Responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop new tooling concepts, supporting the Technical Process Manager and Tool Maker in creation of tooling drawings.
• Where required, and in close liaison with either in house tool room, or external supplier developed detailed tooling design within the Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Service CAD system (Solid Works).
• As required, with internal and external tooling resources, provide technical liaison with support from the wider organisation.
• Creation of internal Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services tooling work instructions (as required) to document use and maintenance of specific tooling, to ensure a consistent quality output.
• To liaise with the rest of the technical team, investigate and develop new processes, methods, and

layouts to increase equipment flexibility and improve throughput, within the OEM standard

requirements.

Skills and Experience required:

• Proven CAD modelling and drafting skills (ideally SolidWorks), for tooling, jig and fixture design.
• Knowledge to include modelling, drafting and complex assemblies. Kinematics would be advantageous.
• Experience in a metal component processing, including surface finishing operations for Aerospace components.
• Excellent IT knowledge (Understanding of MRP & ERP / MS Office products).
