2 shifts 0600aam to 1400pm and 1400pm to 2200pm rotating weekly
PRINCIPAL JOB OBJECTIVES�
To ensure that all tools are maintained and improved where required.� To support production to ensure that products are manufactured in an efficient way and in line with all appropriate quality and safety standards. �To take part in improvement activities to support the business in being more successful.�
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES�
- To maintain tools and production equipment�
- To correctly identify tooling issues and to work with other team members to resolve these when it looks as though a more serious problem might be developing�
- To take part in improvement activities�
- To behave in a manner that is safe and that promotes good manufacturing practice�
- To work with team members to improve the effectiveness of the change-over processes
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- To understand all safety rules�
- To understand all quality rules�
- To be able to maintain tooling and production equipment�
- Carry out servicing on current tooling and production equipment�
- Experienced in setting and operating lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and other workshop equipment�
- To implement and understand TPM and improvement processes�
- To liaise with visitors as necessary�
- Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team�
- Experience in tool manufacturing�
- Experience gained within a similar working environment�
- Experience with CNC milling and turning using XYZ machines�
- Power press and metal forming equipment�
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS�
- Experience in maintaining press tools, rolling and forming tools�
- To take part in the Health and Safety Committee or other representation roles as and when required�
QUALIFICATIONS�
- NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering�
- Abrasive wheel training
