Tool Store ManagerApplication Deadline: 23 May 2024Department: LogisticsEmployment Type: Permanent - Full TimeLocation: Brize NortonCompensation: £50,000 - £54,612 / yearDescriptionThe Tool Store Manager is responsible to manage the tool store and all Tool Store Co-Ordinator’s, defining and ensuring compliance with the tool control safety standards, owning, and maintaining ATrS Logistics Tool Control Procedures in accordance with UK CAA Part 145, MAM-P and contractual requirements.The Tool Stores Manager role will also be responsible for the loan tooling processes.Key Responsibilities• Manage the Tooling Co-Ordinator’s and ensure the on-going competence of the Tooling Co-Ordinator’s• Ensure the on-going competence of the logistics personnel whilst operating in tool stores• Respond to and manage the requirements for tooling in support of all scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance• Provide guidance to the Tool Store personnel on the daily priorities and targets• Own and manage the tool issue, storage, repair, and lost tool procedures, along with the procurement of tools damaged or missing• Own and manage the tool calibration and procurement processes• Ensure the continued compliance of all down route tooling centres working with Deployed Ops and Line Engineering• Define standards for all owned processes and monitor adherence to those standards• Ensure all owned processes are written and carried out in accordance with the MOE,UK CAA Part 145, MAA regulations and industry best practice• Ensured that all tools are handled and processed in accordance with UK CAA Part 145 and MAM-P• Coordinate with Planning and Production to ensure that required tooling is available or sourced in time for future aircraft maintenance inputs and attend pre-input meetings when required. Work with Base Maintenance manager to accurately identify tooling and equipment requirements and gain financial sign off.• Work in conjunction with Mil CAMO or deputies to implement safety improvement activities• Review Tool Control BOWTIE threats and develop risk mitigation measures• Make sure all company compliance processes are adhered to with zero tolerance to overdue findings• Own and manage the loan tooling processes• Conduct the performance reviews and appraisals of all direct reports
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise• Capable of Managing a team of Tool Store Co-ordinators in accordance with UK CAA Part 145 regulations• Experience of procedural writing, auditing and process improvement in accordance with UK CAA Part 145 regulations• Understanding of UK CAA and MAM-P Tool control processes• Demonstrable experience in the application of best practice in tool control and management in both civil and military settings• Demonstrable experience in the management of tooling and equipment servicing requirements• Understanding of procurement practices• Knowledge of tool control best practice in Line, Base and Operational maintenance environments• Demonstrable experience in the application of a Just Culture• Experience in MoD Supply Chain Environment• Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
