The Theatre Coordinator will need to take responsibility for the running of the department and take charge in the absence of the Theatre Management team. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care. To Manage and ensure that the provision of nursing care and maintaining high clinical standards is met
As a department we need provide care of patients undergoing invasive procedures admitted to the hospital. To provide surgical services to Consultants. To meet budgetary and quality targets.

Am I the right person for this Theatre Coordinator role?
Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
Post graduate qualification mentorship
Minimum 5 years experience within the role of Operating Rooms Practitioner
Demonstrated experience managing teams
Demonstrated experience running an Operating Suite in the absence of the Manager or Deputy.
Competence in delivering a high level of peri-operative care
A high level of communication skills within all disciplines and grades.
Flexibility in response to needs of the department
Ability to deliver a high level of customer service to patients and Consultants
What are the Responsibilities of this Theatre Coordinator role?
To Assist the Theatre Management team in the efficient utilisation of all resources with specific attention on Theatre utilisation and staffing.
Leadership and support for the Theatre team
Assisting with staff recruitment, training, development and appraisals.
Report the failure or mechanical problems of any items of equipment in line with Hospital Policy.
Contribute to the effective budget management of the Theatre Department.
To assist the Theatre Manager in the business planning process, including business continuity plans.
Exhibit a high level of Perioperative care in line with best practice as well as professional and national standards and hospital procedures and acting as a role model for the team.
Maintains current and up to date clinical knowledge and ensures best practice is followed by the team.
Exhibiting a high level of teamwork with the Operating Suite and in the wider hospital environment.
Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the Theatre Department, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives
