We are looking for an experienced Machinist with a strong understanding and experience working in a quick-paced machining/testing environment. The position is predominantly, but not limited to, machining of test specimens. You must be a self-motivated individual accustomed to accepting responsibility and can be relied upon to use own initiative regarding work scheduling and problem solving. You must be an effective communicator and team member.

The Role
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, the Machinist will be required to operate CNC Machinery consisting of Mazatrol & Fanuc operating systems. As a site that demonstrates a very active and inclusive Health & Safety ethos, you will be required to engage with local Health and Safety teams/departments. You will ensure that safe working practices are always adhered to while, processing materials ensuring they conform to customers order requirements. You will be responsible for checking all Quality and relevant paperwork to ensure that products meet customer requirements.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Key experience required:
A recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience.
Experience and demonstrable skills within CNC editing, loading programmes, changing offsets (desirable but not essential).
Skills and experience of setting CNC Machine tools to high precision.
Familiar with metallurgical test specimens and associated standards/requirements.
Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office.
Ideally, relevant experience and practical experience using the following machinery:
2 axis turning, 3 axis milling, surface grinding
Mazatrol & Fanuc controls.
Tool room equipment, conventional machine tools etc...
