Position: Test Development Engineer

Salary: Up to �47,000

Location: Milton Keynes

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Test Development Engineer to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business in Milton Keynes.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Test Development Engineer to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

Responsibilities:

  1. Test Strategy Development: Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to define test requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies for new and existing products.
  2. Test System Design: Design, develop, and implement automated test systems and fixtures for functional, performance, and reliability testing of electronic components and systems.
  3. Test Software Development: Write, debug, and maintain test software scripts and programs for automated testing platforms, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
  4. Test Process Optimization: Continuously optimize test processes to improve efficiency, reduce test time, and increase throughput while maintaining high levels of accuracy and reliability.
  5. Failure Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and work with design and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions and improve product quality.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed test plans, procedures, and reports to document testing processes, results, and findings. Present findings to stakeholders and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  7. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as ISO, RoHS, and REACH, throughout the testing process.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or related field. If not then time served in the same field.
  2. Proven experience in test development and automation within the electronics manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of electronic circuits and systems.
  3. Solid knowledge of testing of power components e.g DC - DC converters.
  4. Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers.
  5. Familiarity with C# or other .NET language.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  7. Previous experience of PCB design is desirable.
  8. Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to electronic testing and compliance.
