Are you an experienced Finance and Accounting Professional seeking a new opportunity? Office Angels has an immediate opening for a dedicated individual to join our client's team in Stockton. Due to the urgent nature of this recruit, the role is initially temporary, with the potential to be made permanent.

About the Company: Our client is a globally recognised leader in their industry, known for their success and innovation. As part of their small but dynamic accounts team, you'll work closely with the Financial Controller to manage the company's financial operations.

In order to be considered for this role, it is essential that you are available to start work immediately, or have a short 1 week notice period. This role could potentially be made permanent for the right candidate, however this opportunity will suit candidates open to considering purely temporary, and temporary to permanent opportunities.

  • Immediate start, minimum 2-3 months temporary.
  • Location: Stockton-on-Tees, free parking
  • Salary: �28,000 - �32,000, negotiable depending on experience
  • Hours: Our client is open to considering part-time or full-time hours between 25 - 39 hours per week. Standard office hours are Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:30, Friday 07:30-12:30, however some flexibility is offered with start and finish times.

Purpose:

The Accounts Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller in ensuring the smooth operation of the department. This role involves performing daily accounting tasks to maintain transparency and efficiency in all financial transactions.

Key Duties:

  • Registering and matching purchase invoices onto ERP system
  • Resolving invoice queries in a timely manner
  • Entering payments on the company banking system
  • Performing monthly purchase statement reconciliations
  • Sending payment remittances to suppliers
  • Setting up supplier and customer accounts on SAGE
  • Chasing debtors and sending monthly statements to customers
  • Maintaining up-to-date filing systems
  • Covering Reception as needed
  • Assisting HR with payroll duties
  • Reconciling credit cards and managing the accounts inbox
  • Collating monthly payment runs and paying suppliers
  • Conducting monthly bank reconciliations and entering journals
  • Handling payroll preparation and processing for staff and shop floor employees
  • Maintaining the Time and Attendance system
  • Calculating weekly and monthly payroll and completing statutory reporting
  • Submitting pension information to the pension provider
  • Undertaking ad hoc duties to support the Financial Controller

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Accounting & Finance, working in at Accounts Assistant, equivalent, or higher level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAT Level 2 or above
  • Sound working knowledge of SAGE accounting
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, email, and internet
