Points 5-6 (annual salary of £17,976 - £18,276)

The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Technician to support our Biology Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our biology classes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to the high-quality education we offer our students. The position has arisen due to the retirement of a valued team member.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Preparation:
Collaborate with teaching staff to prepare resources for classes
Resource Management:
Organize and maintain storage of tools, equipment, and materials
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and service equipment, ensuring all items are in good working order
Health and Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the department.
Administrative Support:
Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining departmental records

Working Hours:
32.5 hours per week during the school year (September to June)
Daily from: 8:45am
3:45pm
Breaks: 30 minutes lunch and 10-minute morning break for tea/coffee
Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a proactive organised individual with a passion for supporting educational activities. You will have:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A* to C, including English, Maths, and a science subject
Knowledge of health and safety procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and remain calm under pressure
A Level or higher qualification in Biology or a related subject is
desirable
Experience working as a technician in an educational setting is
desirable

About Sullivan Upper School:
Sullivan Upper School is a large co-educational and interdenominational voluntary grammar school
situated in 25 acres of its own grounds on the edge of Holywood, overlooking Belfast Lough. There
are at present 1,250 pupils in the school, some 180 of them in the Preparatory Department. It is
owned and managed in all its affairs by the Board of Governors of the School, which is drawn from
the local community and reflects the main religious denominations of Holywood. The school is
funded directly by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland.
