A new role has arisen for a Technical Support Technician to join a leading manufacturing business in Telford, Shropshire.

Working 8 – 16.30 Mon Fri

This role will be predominantly office based, working within the Technical team and you will be responsible for producing 2D AutoCAD drawings and programs for Laser machine operation.

This client in Telford, requires a Technical Support Technician on a permanent basis, you will carry out the following -

Read and understand engineer drawings
Produce 2D AutoCAD designs
Learn to use CAM based software to produce basic programs for Amada Laser
Providing technical support to customers and shop floor staff and taking basic measurements of parts on shop floor
Occasionally supporting the quotations team
Maintain documentation, log all breakdowns and servicing work.
The Technical Support Technician should have the following skills or experience:

Essential:

Ideally a mechanical or engineering-based qualification or lots of experience in a technical or engineer support role within manufacturing sector
Good understanding and experience using AutoCAD or CAM type software
Sheet Metal background is highly advantageous
Must be accurate with taking measurements and applying to drawing
Current or previous role you have worked as include – CAD Technician, Junior CAD Technician, Design Engineer, Design Technician, CAM programmer, Technical Engineer, Junior CAD Technician, Production Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with some basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Engineering and has experience with sheet metal production that would like to gain more experience with an established manufacturing company. In return for your experience, this Telford based manufacturer will offer you:

Opportunity of a permanent contract (once your probation has been passed)

40 hours working week.

Starting annual salary around £26 – 27,000 per annum, with the potential to increase after passing your probationary period
Excellent opportunity for a junior engineer to gain an opportunity in Technical dept looking to develop skills and knowledge in production design and production engineering
