Reed Scientific is pleased to be working with our client who is seeking a Technical Sales Support Specialist. They are one the largest providers of radioactive isotopes and non-destructive testing equipment in the UK and internationally, with clients in
healthcare, research and environmental testing industries to name a few. In this role you would be providing exceptional technical support to our customers and assist the operations team in fulfilling orders. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and excellent interpersonalskills.The position is
based at their site in Didcot, Oxfordshire with occasional travel to customer sites and technical conferences. Day to Day of the Role:
Act as the main point of contact for customers post-order placement.Support sales at technical conferences and interact directly with customers.Visit customer sites and transport Dangerous Goods when required.Supervise operations related to radiological safety in a warehouse environment, progressing to a Radiation Protection Supervisor level.Provide quotations based on the supplier’s price list and offer technical support for the company’s products.Demonstrate knowledge of safety, security, and regulatory aspects of handling and transporting high activity sources.Support operations with import, export, and final delivery to customers. Desired Qualifications:
BSc in Science (ideally Chemistry, Physics, or a similar subject) with A-level standard or equivalent in Chemistry or Physics.2 years’ experience in a sales or technical support role linked to applications in radiation protection/metrology, medical physics, nuclear medicine or radiochemistry or related chemical industry.Full driving licence and car. Key Skills and Competencies:
Extensive knowledge of the company’s product range and the ability to work with suppliers to develop new products.Scientific educational background to discuss scientific and/or medical concepts with customers.Ability to work accurately and methodically in a highly regulated environment.Good knowledge of radiological safety and regulations covering the storage of high activity radiation sources. This role comes with built in progression and would be well suited to a scientist/chemist who regularly interact with customers and may be interested in moving away from lab work, becoming technical expert and providing after sales support. It could also
be well suited to those in an administrative customer service oriented role, who have background in science and would like to more variety in the job and build upon the skills they have gained so far.
