We are recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join our marine client based in Aberdeen.The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for the safe overall management and technical operations of our clients assigned vessels. This includes overseeing the safe daily operations of maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, on-board general assessment of vessels, inspections and docking.THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTExperienced Chief or 2nd Engineer.Working knowledge of North Sea Operations.Dry dock experience.Experience working with budgets.Valid Medical (preferred).Ability to facilitate change.Ability to produce work to a high standard whilst working in a fast-paced high pressured work environment.JOB DESCRIPTIONEnsure the assigned vessels are technically operational or managed according to the management agreement requirement.Ensure the proper management of spare parts and deck/engine stores and assist in the control of the vessels’ budgets.Liaise with internal and external customers on technical and operational matters including vessel performance etc.Attend to vessel dry docking, repairs and survey when required and determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance.Provide and compile documented reports upon completion of dry docking, including summaries of works performed, operational budgets, and actual expenditures.Identify and source technical and operational supplies required for the vessels and ensure the rates are most economical to achieve the optimum vessels’ performance consistent with their commercial obligations.Control and monitoring the lube-oil and bunker quality and consumption.Monitor all
aspects/performance
of assigned vessels’ operation including safety and environmental protection, etc. to ensure that these are carried out in compliance with the Company’s requirements for a flawless, efficient and competitive for customer focused operation and prevailing International and Flag State legislation.Initiate corrective actions when such performance does not meet with the Company’s standards.Keep records of the functioning and condition of all instruments and equipment on-board. Using companies planned maintenance and IMS systems and mechanisms.Check the logbooks, the Oil Record Books, etc. and ensuring that contingency plans and other manuals are updated.Monitor the inventories of mooring equipment, safety equipment, lifesaving, firefighting equipment and portable instruments.Attend Vetting and third-party inspections.Carry out vessel visits twice per year.Health, Quality, Safety and Environmental protection Management.Monitoring of Personnel performance and onboard training (including safety drills). Briefing/Debriefing
