As a Barclays Senior Technical Solutions Architect, you will provide both Engineering and Architectural Solutions in the Enterprise Data Advanced Analytics Platform that combines several tools and technologies which streamlines the model development lifecycle. The Enterprise Data Platform is a collection of platforms, frameworks and services that provide standard tooling across the bank for moving, ensuring quality, storing, archiving, cataloguing, accessing, manipulating and consuming data as it moves through its data lifecycle. What will you be doing?
Working with Quants, technology and architects designing new platform capabilities, or enhancing existing ones, ensuring deliverables comply to Barclays standards and policies
Designing the Enterprise Advanced Analytics Platform to support Model Development Life Cycle
Leading Architecture Capability and managing architecture within Engineering team
Communicating designs to the Architecture council as well as the CTO and CSO organizations
Creating strategy and vision for Enterprise Advanced Analytics Platforms
Providing consultancy for new initiative, to assist in the definition of business solutions or technical data strategies aligned to Enterprise Data Platforms
Producing design artefacts such as component landscapes, flow diagrams, word documents, confluence pages to help articulate key design decisions
Producing Strategy and Visions & High Level End to End Design documentsWhat we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Proven architecture and Design experience in a Cloud environment
Extensive technical knowledge, a broad understanding of a wide variety of technologies including emerging technologies (Python, AWS, containerization, Kubernete)
Understanding of Agile Software development methodologies and governanceSkills that will help you in the role:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of key stakeholder groups
AWS Architecture or Engineering certification
Experience with containerization and Databricks
Exposure to Hadoop Core ConceptsWhere will you be working?Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
