The purpose of this role is to manage the Fortescue WAE Power Conversion customer commercial relationship, ensuring that voice of customer is heard within business unit and WAE internal teams. This role will be a central point of new business opportunities for power conversion across industry. They will drive the cross functional team to deliver and convert a compelling techno-commercial proposition. They will support the adjacent opportunity pipeline to develop. It requires the incumbent to be motivated by our purpose to deliver decarbonisation to our partners with market leading performance and speed to market.Job role:· Identifying and developing customer pipeline for Power Conversion portfolio which may require support to Business Development Managers across the commercial team supporting Mobility, Heavy Industry and Motorsport business units, as well as independent opportunities in otherwise unexplored markets· Making initial approaches, understanding and capturing customer requirements, preparing and presenting proposals, and maintaining post sale customer relationships· Producing proposals, working with internal stakeholders to produce robust and clear technical, project management and commercial elements of the bid documentation.· Conducting desk and customer driven market research and analysis to establish, document and maintain current market strategy and prioritized prospect lists.· Maintaining awareness of the competitive landscape in the appropriate sectors· Contributing to the forecasting and achievement of revenue targets through the sales of products, technologies and services in the agreed target markets.· Drafting, preparing and reaching agreement on commercial terms in association with the legal department.· Developing relationships with new clients; managing relationships with current or previous clients and expanding existing relationships to drive increased revenue.· Maintaining relevant entries in the CRM system to provide a running commentary on new and developing opportunities.· Supporting the product team in the development of effective marketing collateral and customer insight· Working with the rest of the Fortescue WAE business development team to incorporate customer demands into the company’s product and services offerings.· Assisting in ways to improve the overall Fortescue WAE Business Development team performance.· Contributing to key industry event attendance and representing WAE professionally at all times.· Maintaining positive relationships with all other departments and following the company’s health and safety policy.· International and national travel to attend customer meetings and agreed events.· Ability to produce proposals and analyse complex problems and business cases, sometimes working as part of a team and sometimes independently.You’ll have:· Demonstrable sales experience in Power Conversion products preferably with knowledge of at least one of the following markets: Energy storage and distribution; Battery power systems; Electric vehicle charging; Hydrogen system production · Research, analytic, numeracy and computer skills (including relevant software proficiency). · Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management and Engineering teams. · Ability to demonstrate previous experience and success of commercial contract negotiation. · Ability to work well on a team with excellent communication and interpretation skills in all formats.· Commercial awareness with knowledge of project costing and earned valued management.· Ability to distinguish between reliable and unreliable data with excellent attention to detail.· Good experience in a commercial, account management or business development role within engineering and able to demonstrate a successful track record of winning and maintaining business.We’ll provide:Training to add to your existing skills and accelerate your careerA supportive and empowering work environmentThe closing date for applications is 31st May 2024.
