Job DescriptionTHE POSITION – ITS Technical Sales Manager Navtech Radar’s ITS segment is looking for a Technical Sales Manager with proven experience in technical sales, and a track record of generating new business and exceeding sales targets. You will relish being a key part of a small, friendly team where you can make an impact, so a willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute is fundamental. Supported by a talented team of engineers, you will be promoting and selling market-leading radar sensors and software to the ITS industry. Your ability to understand the customer’s problems as well as uncover the needs of each of the stakeholders will allow you to generate demand in target markets.An interest in and enthusiasm for technology sales and new business development is important. Experience of radar technology is not necessary, as full product specific training will be provided.Working within the ITS Segment, this role will report to the ITS Segment Leader.COMPANY OVERVIEW - NAVTECH RADAR Navtech Radar is a world-leading innovator, and multi-award-winning designer and manufacturer of commercially deployed radar solutions. We care about our staff, in fact, our culture is developed by them, for them!KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESWith support from the ITS Segment leader create new business development plans to drive revenue growth of the Navtech solution within the UK and a defined international territoryExecute the development plans to meet and exceed agreed targets.Arrange and deliver hands on, in field product demonstrations, and trials to build customer understanding and generate demand, ensuring necessary resource is planned and available to support.Identify and generate new business leads through networking, industry events, delivering webinars and proactive outreach.Build, develop and convert the opportunity pipeline into orders, drawing on the relevant areas of the business to ensure success.Identify, recruit, and nurture a network of proactive channel sales partners, consultants, and system integrators to ensure geographic coverage and successful deployments.Prepare quotations and own tender responses for all in territory business opportunities.With support from the senior management team, negotiate commercial contracts, managing and mitigating risk.Recommend events and exhibitions with the aim of sharing knowledge and generating demand in conjunction with the wider ITS team.Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the industry, market requirements (apparent and latent), trends and competitor landscape, translating this into actions that enable Navtech to lead and influence the market.Work effectively as a part of the ITS Segment team and maintain up to date records within the CRM system.YOUR COMPETENCIES You need to be able to convey a technical product to a wide range of stakeholders, have a high level of commercial acumen, and be open-minded to ideas from all sources. You’ll have the desire to grow and successfully convert your opportunity pipeline into orders by influencing the market to adopt Navtech Radar solutions.An energetic, hard-working self-starter, with the personal credibility commensurate with the importance of the roleDemonstrates technical, commercial and business acumenA natural team player, with the confidence and ability to communicate across a wide range of disciplines and senioritiesAbility and willingness to travel internationally to generate sales, attend exhibitions and conferences and to demonstrate Navtech solutions (roadside & in tunnels).Customer focus; provide a high quality service to both internal and external customersEXPERIENCEWe require a sales professional with technical business-to-business sales experience, ITS industry experience is an advantage but not essential for this role.A successful candidate will be of graduate calibre, technically minded, and commercially astute. Holding an engineering or business-related degree would be advantageous.Experience working and building relationships with customers and partners outside the UKExperience in generating and pursuing new business opportunities to a successful conclusionExperience influencing and defining customer specificationsA foreign language would be an advantageSalary:Salary will be competitive based on this type of role within the Thames Valley.Bonus of up to 25% of salary.You must be in commuting distance of our office in Ardington.Please include a cover letter in your application.
