Our Client is an independent testing house for munitions, explosives, ordance and UAVs based in a beautiful location on the Welsh border.� They serve�as a critical partner for defence and security sectors by providing extensive test and evaluation facilities. Specializing in autonomous systems testing and simulations across various environments, our mission is to deliver excellence and innovation in support of national security and technological advancements.



Primary Role: The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing Test & Evaluation (T&E) programmes, with the immediate focus on Project Zeus. This project involves comprehensive testing and evaluation of autonomous systems in air, land, and potential maritime applications. Responsibilities include:




  • Coordination and project management of T&E initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational goals and delivery timelines.

  • Leading a team of subcontractors and overseeing technologies ranging from autonomous systems, sensors, RF communications, data security, and synthetic environments.

  • Providing continuous support to the Operations Director in all aspects of programme delivery.



Secondary Role: The secondary responsibilities of this position involve supporting the Business Development Director in expanding business opportunities and customer relationships:




  • Engaging with existing clients to secure new business and following up on pending quotations.

  • Prospecting for new clients and managing ongoing customer relationships.

  • Attending industry events and trade shows to network and identify new business opportunities.

  • Managing tender document preparation and submissions for identified opportunities.

  • Utilizing and updating the�CRM system to ensure efficient tracking and conversion of orders.



Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of international defence standards and the core capabilities of the business. Key attributes and skills include:




  • Proven project management skills, preferably in defence or a related technical field.

  • Strong sales focus and driven to meet or exceed targets.

  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong work ethic.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to manage detailed data effectively.

  • Exceptional communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Capability to drive/commute as required by the job.

  • Experience in handling classified information and understanding customer-specific requirements.
