Hours:37.5 Monday to Friday
Location:Hybrid remote working, 3 days a week across any of our Virgin Atlantic locations. This will include a Monday in our VHQ, Crawley, West Sussex
Contract:15-month secondment/FTC

In this exciting role as Technology PM, you'll be working as part of Virgin Atlantic's Enterprise Transformation function, with accountability for the successful delivery of technical projects to time, cost, and quality in a global environment. If you'd love to work on a variety of projects that will range from simple deployments to projects which are high-value worth (up to £30m) and complex, then this could be the role for you. All of these projects will be expected to drive significant business benefit
You will define the work and appropriate delivery approach to meet the agreed business benefits, understand and support the required business change, and ensure that the project produces the required outcomes to the agreed standard of quality and within the agreed constraints of cost, risk and time
In your role of Tech PM you will build and maintain effective working relationships with key partners at various levels of the business, third-party suppliers internal groups to ensure a successful delivery .
Day to day
Review and understand the Project Business Vision, working with key business and technology stakeholders to define and articulate the scope of the project
Produce well-considered delivery plans developed in conjunction with other appropriate Technology teams
Identify the key dependencies within the project so that these are clearly shown within the overall project plans
Deliver the assigned project activities in an effective and inspired manner, ensuring performance and delivery expectations are made clear to all those who will be involved
Ensure all stakeholders are fully engaged within the project, understanding it's aims and objectives and the role that they play in delivering against the requirement
Ensure projects are successfully transitioned into BAU support with appropriate artifacts being provided and change controls adhered to
Review of the controls and compliance aspects of the allocated projects maintaining a 'Risks and Issues' log ensuring that appropriate items are captured and identify mitigating actions, ensuring their resolution in conjunction with the relevant stakeholder(s)/owner
Management and control of the project finances by measuring and tracking against the allocated project budget, reconciling the spend versus budget on a monthly basis and as required showing actual spend, committed spend and estimate to completion.
Work closely with the appropriate members of the Project Management Office (ePMO) to ensure the project is effectively tracked and monitored within VA reporting tools
About you
Do you have a Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2, APMP or PMP? Do you have demonstrable experience as a Technical PM with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget? Then this could be the role for you!
Alongside the above, we are looking for the following: A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field
Demonstratable experience in managing technical projects, preferably in the airline, finance, loyalty, or IT industry
Demonstrable experience of delivering complex integrated IT solutions utilizing cloud-based API and SOA strategies and technologies
Strong knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects, tools, and methodologies of the project domain
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Track record of optimally delivering high-value worth Projects which have delivered the agreed business benefits
Solid team player with the ability to work with a variety of professionals from different disciplines to successfully deliver projects
