The successful candidate will also be responsible for reporting the program status within the engineering team and into the wider business on a regular basis.Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the planning and delivery of all Engineering activities for a project from concept through to Launch Ensure that the technical targets and requirements are clearly defined and agreed with all stakeholders and then ensure these are delivered on time and to budget Ensure Engineering Department deliverables as defined in the Norton New Product Development (NPD) process have agreed ownership and are delivered on time to the appropriate gateway requirements Manage delivery of Engineering activities from either internal departmental resource or from third party Engineering Service Providers (ESPs), depending on company strategy / resources
Compile Objective and Subjective Engineering targets documentation, including dynamic attributes, ergonomics, feature content and mass Ensure test and validation plans are appropriate to the program, including benchmarking, mule testing and prototype validation Develop and manage the Bill of Materials (BoM) for the program Identify project risks and plan mitigation action with the Vehicle Line Manager Complete lessons learnt review at program completion and document actions Co-ordinate IT and data management requirements for the engineering function to ensure effective communication with suppliers and partners Person Specification
Candidate should have a foundation in Engineering, followed by Project Management Experience, ideally in a product development role, preferably automotive or motorcycle industry based Highly organised with excellent attention to detail across multiple workstreams Experience in Leading the interface between the Engineering delivery team and project management Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and program including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Ability to present program delivery information clearly and concisely at a level appropriate to the target audience Rewards of working for Norton:We like to take care of our Nortoneers and we think we offer some pretty decent rewards.
