Technical Manager

We require a Technical Manager with extensive experience in passive fire protection, the successful person will be based between the Midlands and London and spend most of each week out in the field onsite with customers.

About the job

* To provide technical expertise, constructive guidance, and commercial viability to clients and internally to our sales and specification teams and advise on all existing and new fire-resistant products to architects, installers, authorities, contractors, clients and fire departments on major projects.

* Maintain an awareness of new products, developments, and legislative national guidance changes in passive fire protection industry and ensure effective communication and implementation that may impact the organisation.

* Assist with the production of typical product/installation details through CAD drawings.

* To establish and maintain a good working relationship with a network of architects, specifiers, contractors, installers, dealers, fire departments and other industry influencers to become the preferential partner with regard to fire protection and to meet other established goals.

* Attending customer site visits to overcome project-specific issues.

* Be involved with technical committees.

* Give training on all possible products and applications in the field of fire protection to architects, installers, contractors, dealerships, etc.

* To continually improve the existing products and tested system as well as designing and testing new products and systems for the Passive fire protection market. This involves solutions for all forms of construction (infrastructure, commercial and modular) as well as special project specific opportunities.

* Assisting with product testing through both planning and installation of systems. This will require regular trips to test houses and installation sites.

* Manage a small team of passive fire protection surveyors.

About you

* Educated to a minimum of HNC (level 4) in a fire related discipline or be able to demonstrate substantial fire safety experience.

* Experienced in Passive Fire Protection products systems and installation methodologies.

* Comprehensive knowledge of current fire safety legislation, and associated guidance documents.

* Ability to read architectural or CAD drawing.

* Experience liaising with all industries in the passive fire protection.

* Experience in conducting training sessions and public presentations.

* Experience in preparing Site Reports.
