Technical Manager (Food Safety/ Manufacturing)

Objectives of Position: 
We are looking for a motivated technical person with good knowledge of food safety, to drive the Technical Services department in offering a great consultancy service to our higher risk clients which includes central production kitchens and manufacturing sites. 

You will be responsible for a small team of consultants and have the knowledge and drive to coach and mentor clients to help them achieve their safety goals!

This is a hybrid role working at client sites and some working from home. Clients are located mainly in and around London, with some occasional travel further afield within the UK.

Manufacturing (Quality and Technical department) 
Consultant 
Food safety manager 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Provide technical support consultancy to clients to help them achieve their safety goals. 
Produce food safety, and quality documentation including allergen risk assessments and HACCP creation. 
Develop a detailed knowledge of production facilities and assist with client and team queries in this area. 
Carry out food safety and health & safety audits and support visits at client premises, including central production units and manufacturing sites. 
3rd party certification consultancy to help suppliers achieve SALSA and BRC
Account manager duties for individual clients. 
Mentor, support, and provide development guidance to consultants. 

*There are some elements of health and safety in this role. If you do not have health and safety experience, please discuss with us and we can provide training. 

Person Specification: 
You will hold relevant food safety qualifications – usually a BSc Environmental Health or a minimum level 4 Food Safety plus relevant industry experience. You will have experience of conducting food safety audits with a focus on central production kitchens and suppliers manufacturing. 
You will be able to organise your own time, comfortable working on your own and able to quickly learn new systems and software. You will be able to provide a constructive approach with clients and forge a professional relationship. 

Ideally you will have: 
• Relevant food safety and health & safety knowledge and experience 
• HACCP Level 3 minimum and experience in HACCP writing. 
• Knowledge of SALSA and other GFSI standards including BRC and ISO22000
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and IT skills. 
• Conscientious and able to apply a consistent standard and approach
• Ability to motivate team members
