Job DescriptionHead of Technical The position of Technical and Compliance Head is pivotal in ensuring the safe, lawful, sustainable, and high-quality production of food across the manufacturing sites, while adhering to budgetary constraints and ensuring customer satisfaction. This senior leadership role oversees various departments including Quality Management, Hygiene, Technical Services, Health and Safety, and Sustainability.Key Responsibilities:Prioritizing Staff Welfare and Food Safety in all decision-making processes.Managing audits from retailers and regulatory bodies.Ensuring compliance with food-specific legal requirements and customer standards.Managing relationships with service suppliers.Upholding high standards of Health and Safety across all sites.Remaining informed about emerging food safety and legality issues.Overseeing the day-to-day technical aspects of ingredient approval, production, and distribution.Leading the HACCP Team.Supervising a diverse team within the Technical and Compliance Department.Fostering engagement and high performance within the team, focusing on problem-solving and collaboration.Overseeing Sustainability and Health & Safety functions.Resolving escalated issues/incidents.Implementing Best Practices to drive business improvements.Introducing new products and processes that meet safety, legal, and customer requirements.Cultivating positive relationships with key customers.Chairing monthly technical meetings.Setting and monitoring relevant KPIs and objectives.Collaborating with Operations to optimize food safety and efficiency.Reviewing and updating product specifications as needed.Promoting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.Introducing digital transformation to streamline technical administration.Contributing to the organizational culture and employee development initiatives.Supporting projects to achieve sustainability and health & safety targets.Required Skills and Competencies:Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams in the food manufacturing sector.Proficiency in managing BRCGS and Retailer audits.Strong project management abilities.Excellent people and time management skills.
