Technical Director - Southampton - �60,000-�90,000 - Hybrid role working from home 2 days a week

We are seeking an individual with a robust engineering background coupled with outstanding technical acumen for problem-solving. As the leader of a large team of managers, you will spearhead the provision of technical support to clients and field personnel, assuming the pivotal role as the primary point of contact for intricate technical challenges.

This role demands troubleshooting skills and meticulous investigation capabilities, underscoring the need for resilience and unwavering determination. Your overarching responsibilities will encompass ensuring the quality and enhancement of products, conducting comprehensive training initiatives, and safeguarding product integrity for our valued customers.

The Technical Director duties include:

  • Full responsibility for Technical Services, Field Failure / Warranty Budget and Product Training
  • Leadership & Management of Technical Support Operations, Technical Services, Field Service and the Training Team
  • Manage continual evaluation & improvement process to improve quality, cost reduction, product safety, customer satisfaction,
  • Managing the performance of the department and management through effective key performance indicators, targets, and goal settings.
  • Ensure compliance with standards for SHEQ including lead manager for product recalls
  • Oversight of Facilities and Health and Safety for the Southampton site.
  • Attend Business Review Meetings with UK management as required

Experience and skills required

  • Experience in a senior management role including responsibility for management of an entire function or site and full P&L responsibility.
  • Fully conversant with both the Distribution, Contracting and Service/Warranty operational models.
  • Experience with operating within an SAP systems environment.
  • Well-developed analytical skills including budgeting, financial reporting, and management of variances.
  • Proven negotiation skills, with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • A team leader who by example demonstrates an abundance of energy, passion, and drive.
