As a member of SCOR’s P&C Claims Team the Technical Claims Specialist will:
Operate within SCOR’s segmented model, adjusting claims within authority limits (including adjustment on ECF where SCOR is slip lead) as well as to pre-book (on non ECF), triage and refer large and complex cases to Claims Experts in line with triage rules
Work in partnership with Claims Experts to handle a case load principally of Energy and Property claims with minimal supervision, interacting with internal and external stakeholders
Be analytical, having the ability to triage incoming claims documentation by type and severity of loss, recognise when certain claims require escalation to senior members of the team and effectively resolve claims within their authority level
Operate in a team environment within SCOR to achieve shared business objectives relating to claims efficiency, financial accuracy and customer service Responsibilities Manage claims within authority up to GBP400k (on an incurred movement basis) from beginning to end with continued assessment of quantum of claim, reserving and settlement
Review of policy language in order to identify covered claims and referral to senior claims team members where required
Review and assess reports (including but not limited to loss adjuster reports), legal opinions and claim updates and continued assessment of triage rules and guidelines
Manage diary and request updated information when necessary
Timely and accurately process payments of all expense and indemnity payments on Single Risk Claims as directed and/or within the authority provided
Work with SCOR’s outsourced claims adjusting service providers, acting as a referral point where matters exceed their authority, escalating matters (where appropriate, and in line with referral criteria) to other members of the SCOR Claims team
Collaborate with colleagues within Specialty Insurance, Single Risks, Treaty and in other departments, including Finance, to ensure all information is provided to enable timely payment of claims
Resolve or escalate queries from internal sources (e.g. accounting and underwriting) as well as external sources (such as brokers, insureds and outside vendors)
Support ongoing reporting requirements, including compiling data on portfolios of claims
Review appropriateness of historical reserves (‘statics’)
Prepare ad hoc reports as required
Participate in the department digitalisation and automation projects, including identification of efficiencies, testing, implementation and training others.
Demonstrate commitment for achieving team objectives, plan/adjust activities accordingly
