37 Hours per Week - Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 16:45, Friday 16:00 Finish

Technical Author required for a market leading manufacturer who are recognised on a global basis. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company with a 50 year history, offering job security and a great working environment.
To apply for this role, you will need experience working as a technical author within an engineering, manufacturing or similar environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating clear, accurate and user-friendly written materials such as user manuals, technical specifications, operating procedures and maintenance guides. These will be used by end-users, technicians, and the manufacturing teams.
The Technical Author Role:
· Working within the company’s R&D department
· Producing high-quality written documentation, explaining functionality features, installation processes, troubleshooting procedures etc.
· Gather information, technical details, and feedback from cross-functional teams such as engineers, product managers etc.
· Stay up to date on best practices in technical writing and implementing improvements
· Quality checks on documentation
The Technical Author Candidate:
· Experience in a technical authoring role
· Proven experience writing and producing hardcopy and online documentation used in manufacturing / used by engineers
· Experience using a desktop publishing software such as FrameMaker or similar
· Experience using online authoring tools such as MadCap Flare
· Experience using Diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio
