Posted 1 day ago Full Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Technical Assistant to join our team.This post is based with Tees Valley Joint Services at theMetrology Centre, Cannon Park, Middlesbrough. We provide variousfunctions, on behalf of the Tees Valley local authorities, assistinglocal industry with legal metrology compliance and providing localbusinesses with a mass calibration service for their process control.This is a physical role that involves handling a range ofweights as they undergo refurbishment and calibration at ourwell-equipped facility, sometimes you will need to operate a crane oruse a fork-lift truck to handle the heavy items.We are seekingto recruit a skilled technician who can bring their proven previousexperience of working with tools and machinery in an industrialworkshop, repair or fabrication environment. Once refurbished, theitems will progress to a clean room environment for calibration whereyou will use modern ultra-precision equipment for measurement andadjustment – use of these instruments requires dexterity and mentalagility. Training will be provided for the use of laboratoryinstruments that are unfamiliar.You will assist with theday-to-day operation and maintenance of the Metrology Centre. You willfield straightforward enquiries from business customers and partnerorganisations, and you will process your calibration results using ourlaboratory management database.This is a challenging andrewarding role with heavy manual handling duties.
