Our client is in search of a Tech Artist to contribute to the creation of original games spanning PC, consoles, and VR platforms. This is a brilliant role for someone on their 1st or 2nd career move. Someone who has spent time in the Games Industry speciliasing in Technical Art who wants to consolidate and build on their experience. As a Tech Artist within the collaborative team, you will collaborate closely with the Art Team to deliver visually stunning and high-performing art across various platforms. Working alongside programmers, the Tech Artist will play a key role in solving intricate technical challenges, supporting art pipelines, and ensuring the realization of the project's artistic vision through the development of appropriate technical solutions. The role demands a proactive approach, adherence to standards and best practices.
Requirements:
Collaborate with Art Leads to actualize the artistic vision within project requirements.
Act as a bridge between art and programming, effectively collaborating with both teams.
Drive art optimization efforts, providing insights for informed decisions and ensuring content meets visual fidelity targets across a diverse range of platforms.
Regularly communicate technical constraints and their rationale to the art team.
Desirable:
Experience in optimizing for lower-end hardware.
Familiarity with Unity workflows, including prefabs, particle systems, and asset management.
Proficiency with VFX/Shader Graph (graph creation and custom tooling).
3D modeling knowledge.
Deep understanding of Unity's Scriptable Render Pipeline (URP/HDRP).
Compute shader knowledge.
Benefits:
Salary - £45,000 - £55,000
Performance-related bonus.
Annual salary reviews based on individual performance.
Standard working hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with no weekends, overtime, or crunch).
