Team Leader | Southport | Full Time – shift patterns, sleep ins and on call | £13 per hour

As a Team Leader, you will join our client’s newly Ofsted registered solo homes in Southport. You will play a vital role in shaping the experiences of these individuals, contributing to their growth and happiness.

Are you the right person for the job?


  • A minimum of 12 months experience working in a children's residential home
  • Enhanced Disclosure check required
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Relevant experience in residential care management preferred

What will your role look like?

Primary:


  • Establish, maintain, and develop a positive environment within the home conducive to emotional security and personal growth
  • Embrace and uphold the company's philosophy and policies
  • Plan and participate in recreational and social activities for the children, fostering constructive engagement
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work

Children’s Care:


  • Build trusting relationships with children based on mutual respect and understanding
  • Encourage socially acceptable behaviour and provide guidance and counselling when needed
  • Take responsibility for the safe supervision of children, including undertaking casework and implementing care plans as a Key Worker

Staff Team


  • Take responsibility for your own professional development
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, supervisions, and training sessions
  • Support the induction and initial training of new staff members

Assessment, Recording, and Reporting:


  • Utilise company mechanisms to record children's progress and development
  • Contribute to accurate report writing and attend relevant meetings as required

Resources


  • Make effective use of available resources within the home and community
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in living and social areas

Management, Organisation, and Administration:


  • Monitor and improve the quality of relationships between children and staff
  • Maintain comprehensive casework records for all children under your care

General Duties:


  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Registered Manager or appointed Deputy/Team Leader
  • Act as a driver/escort for children when required
  • Undertake sleeping-in duties as needed
