About the role
Our client is a leading provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems and service solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business and general aviation, military space and airport operations. The Aerospace Yeovil site includes Integrated Supply Chain operations and Engineering & Technology as well as other support functions.
The purpose of the role is to effectively coach, lead and influence direct reports to achieve company key performance indicators such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory & Cost, whilst maintaining positive employee relations. Success must be driven and sustained through Continuous Improvement, effective Tiered Accountability Meetings, Rapid Problem Solving and other internal operating systems, tools and techniques
Responsibilities
* Responsible manager for safety, quality, delivery, cost*, WIP, obtaining AOP within Cell
area(s) in Yeovil
* Own census requirements including active dialogue with TU for direct manufacturing
ensuring alignment to delivery and productivity within Cell area(s) in Yeovil
* Lead and drive HOS activities within Cell area(s) in Yeovil
* Direct manager for direct census within Cell area(s) in Yeovil
* Indirect manager for AME & Production Controller for cell area(s) in Yeovil
* Partner with Value Stream Leader, AME & Quality to pro-actively plan capital
expenditure aligned to Honeywell ROI
* Ensure pro-active involvement on new products within cell area(s) in Yeovil
* Management of overtime, shift & holiday to be prioritised to ensure business continuity
* Working hours in line with day shift direct production
* Flexible to work occasional shift pattern rota from pool of Team Leaders
Skills and Requirements
* Ability to manage high workload and prioritise accordingly
* Technical understanding of manufacturing
* Proven people leader and ability to manage relationship with Trade Union within cell
area(s) in Yeovil
* Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels of the business
* Understanding and proven track record of Lean management
* Ability to analyse performance data and lead positive decision making within cell
area(s) in Yeovil
* Proven track record to deliver and exceed performance targets
This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of Export Control Licenses and technical Assistant Agreements.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
