In this role, you'll oversee a team of Contract Analysts, guiding them in delivering contract management services that drive proactive commercial solutions for CNOOC International’s North Sea Operations. Your responsibilities will span the full spectrum of oil and gas operations, from exploration to decommissioning.Your focus will be on optimising value for the company through effective budget management, governance, and assurance controls. Additionally, you'll champion a culture of continuous improvement, actively contributing to refining processes and procedures. Collaborating closely with Contract Owners, you'll ensure that our external supply relationships yield optimal value for the business, while fostering strong internal partnerships across various functions.The Role:As a key member of our Supply Chain Team reporting to the Contracts Manager, you'll lead the development and execution of the Contracts Team's functional strategy, supporting key stakeholders across the business by:Leading the team to craft industry-leading contracting strategies for comprehensive end-to-end Contract Management, encompassing demand management, supply market analysis, cost modelling, sourcing strategy, strategy execution, post-award contract performance management, and contract close-out/renewal.Managing a team of Contracts Analysts to optimise contract portfolio performance and address other business needs.Ensuring budgeted outputs are delivered and maximising value for the company while minimising waste and risk.Demonstrating proficiency in outcome-based and transformational contracting methodologies to drive superior performance.Directing the team to maintain the highest professional and integrity standards, adhering to CNOOC's contracting procedures and business controls.Engaging proactively with internal stakeholders to drive contract development, execution, and management.Providing guidance and support across the organisation on contracts planning, strategy, performance management, and commercial / business risk.Representing CNOOC externally with partner engagements and industry initiatives.Contributing to continuous improvement in the contracting process and sharing best practices across teams.Participating in Contracts Review Board for key strategies and contract awards.Supporting the Supply Chain Management team in various contracting activities, including tender processes, contract negotiations, and post-award administration.Committing to personal and technical development.Ensuring all activities are conducted with the highest professional and integrity standards, following CNOOC's procedures and controls.Undertaking additional duties, tasks, and ad hoc projects as needed.Who are we looking for?Ideal candidates for this role should possess:Proven experience as a Team Lead or in people management, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.Expertise in Contracts Management, with a focus on team development, personnel objective setting and tracking, performance management, and contract portfolio management.Demonstrated commitment to HSE policy compliance.Familiarity with key suppliers and trends in the Supply Market to inform supply chain management decisions.Collaboration skills, including experience working with internal teams, external groups, suppliers, and contractors.Relevant contracting experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in an Operator environment.Sound knowledge of oil and gas industry supply chain market dynamics and contracting principles, including familiarity with LOGIC based contracts.Understanding of UK / EU procurement legislation and compliance requirements.Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills for contractual cost analysis.Proficiency in contractual risk allocation.Effective facilitation and negotiation skills.Extensive experience in post-award contract management.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Ability to perform well under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational abilities.Proficiency in information systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with budgeting, reporting techniques, and familiarity with project management practices.Closing StatementClick the “Apply for Job” button to start the application process.No agency or telephone inquiries please.Only applicants who are authorised to work in the UK, without company sponsorship, on a full-time, permanent basis will be considered.Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
