Teaching Assistant

A special school in Knaresborough is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school caters for children and young people aged 3 to 16 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Downs Syndrome and Complex Medical Needs.

They are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them to support with some new pupils they have joining the school. This role is for a September start and will be a full time, long term placement (Monday to Friday).

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• To build strong rapport with the pupils and support with behaviour management when required.
• To work alongside the class Teacher with the day-to-day routine of the class.
• To help run exciting lessons and stimulating activities which help to enhance the students learning and sensory skills.
• To support the pupils with their needs and requirements in accordance to their care plan.
