  • Ability to provide support to pupils aged 5-18 with complex needs, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) related conditions, trauma, attachment, and anxiety.

  • Experience and willingness to work with pupils requiring specialised support in an educational setting.

  • Capacity to assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with pupils, staff, and parents/guardians.

  • Dedication to promoting inclusion and supporting the holistic development of pupils with diverse needs.





Qualifications or Certificates:




  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Education, Health and Social Care, or related field.

  • Certifications or training in areas such as autism awareness, trauma-informed care, and behaviour management would be advantageous.





Experience:




  • Previous experience working with children or young people with complex needs, including ASC related conditions, trauma, attachment, and anxiety, is desirable.

  • Familiarity with implementing individualised support plans and behaviour management strategies within an educational environment.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff.





Brief Overview of the Role:



As a Teaching Assistant at an independent specialist school, you will provide support to pupils aged 5-18 with complex needs, including ASC related conditions, trauma, attachment, and anxiety.



Responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs), providing one-on-one or group support in classroom settings, and promoting the inclusion of all pupils in school activities.
