About the role

Connex Education are currently working with the majority of the Primary schools in NG18 area to work on a relief cover basis, providing the opportunity to work in multiple different educational settings.

As a successful Teaching Assistant, you will be matched to work within one or more of the many primary schools within the Mansfield area. You will be skilled to support with Phonics (Read, write inc) in the younger age groups and be adaptable to work up to Y5/6 in the older year groups of Primary school. You will have a passion for improving children’s life chances and be an excellent guide for children to enjoy their time at school and reach their developmental learning goals.

Duties will include general classroom support for all pupils in KS1 and KS2, facilitating learning through play and small group interventions for pupils requiring additional help. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in close partnership with the Class Teacher in helping to promote the acquisition of learning goals.

Person Specification

• Experience working in an educational environment with children aged between 4 and 11 years.
• Be willing to support on a 1:1 basis or work in small groups with children
• Have behaviour management skills
• Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc
• Be organised and reliable
• Have a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to process a new one
• Willing to go the extra mile!
