Position Overview: We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to fill multiple vacancies for Teaching Assistant, focusing on supporting children with varying degrees of SEN needs, ranging from mild to moderate, in Godalming. Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with SEN needs in mainstream primary classrooms.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies in Godalming.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and respected.
  • Encourage and facilitate the participation of children with SEN in classroom activities and social interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other members of the school staff to ensure the needs of children with SEN are met
  • Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting in Godalming.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different types of SEN, including mild to moderate needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
